Marshmallow Tower

Marshmallow Tower
Yesterday the 21st of september we made towers out of marshmallows and toothpicks me and my partner logan made a sort of dome with a oddly shaped flag on the top and then it fell to pieces because the weight of the flag.Because we couldn’t fix it we raged and broke it to pieces and ate it all. Yesterday jack and i made a tower not a alderny tower because we made it out of marshmallows and toothpicks. It was a trick topic because the tower kept on falling it was so annoying i almost raged. At the end we ate it all and it was like podding. By logan

Cross Country Wrighting

Cross Country

Cross country is an interesting time of the year when you have to practice your running strategy and technique. Even though it helps keep you fit, it is overly time and energy consuming. Why do we need cross country when we can have daily short runs that are more efficient and effective? Some people would go as far as to say, it is a waste of time.

First of all, let’s get something clear we (my group) do NOT like cross country, and the reasoning behind that is as follows. The first reason is that instead of running beyond your limits, you should instead make them run as far as they can until they start walking and then let them stop. The second reason is that we don’t believe that we should be forced against our will to do something that we would not do if we were given a choice. Perhaps doing one of the many fitness exercises we know, or running around Putikitiki 3 times, and then the beep test after it would be as effective as running the cross country.

So if you agree, come talk to Jack J, Daesharn P and Andre R at Hamilton East School for more student choice.

Kitiakatanga

Yesterday we went to peachgrove Intermediate for a show called Kaitiakitanga. Our whole kauri team went to see it. I spotted so many people from last year. The show had amazing actors, props, audio and when they played the pictures off the projector everything was clear. I loved all of the show but the audio was amazing and the props were well made it was clear that spent lots of time and effort into planning. Our favourite scene was the first scene when they introduced the new zealand landscape and maori legends.

SIX SENTENCE STORY

Once upon a time...there was a man named Stephen Curry.
He lived in a spooky mansion on top of a hill.
He was a pro at basketball and worked at Mcdonald’s.
And then one day he had a basketball game, but he also had a late Mcdonald's shift and he had to pick one or he would be fired.
Stephen Curry was depressed because he was in a heavy dilemma.

So without any thought needed he chose…….Mcdonald’s and lived there for the rest of his life.

    Anzac to me
To me anzac is more than just men fighting a war it is a gripping story of brave men going to a new unknown land strange people and most to their deaths. But even if the sad truth is that countless people lost their life most the great war heroes were killed or died of sickness.
Take John simpson for example he came from england but went to australia a strange new land at the time but he was still willing to risk his life in the australian and new zealand army corps A.K.A Anzac. It is said that he saved 300 soldiers but it has been argued if that is possible but described by all his fellow soldiers as a hero and an anzac legend.
